Blog by Real Phaneuf, Gary Yip, Ed Weening and Scott Sieppert | September 26th, 2013

The community of Rocky Ridge will move forward with the construction of the Rocky Ridge Recreation Facility.

The Rocky Ridge Recreation Facility is a ‘building within a park’. It is located on a 26.1
hectare (64.5 acre) natural site at the northwest edge of the Calgary city limits, tucked
between an existing hill to the northeast (the highest natural elevation in the City of
Calgary) and a constructed wetland to the southwest, with views to the mountains
beyond.

abilities can come to play, learn, exercise, relax, and have fun while providing a blend of community, cultural, leisure and recreation amenities for individuals, families, and recreation sport groups alike. The Council-approved functional program includes all segments of the population (all ages and abilities), concentrating on introductory activities and basic skill development, fitness, and is non-competitive in nature. The facility includes a 25m, 8-lane pool, leisure pool, triple gymnasium, large fitness centre, leisure and recreation ice rinks, 300-seat theatre, art space, gallery, and
